Changes in the new year
I wish you a glorious new year and all the best in 2025. Here’s to happiness and good health–and at least a few park visits and rides aboard roller coasters–in the coming 12 months. In celebration of the holiday, I will be taking this Thursday off and will not be publishing an article.
As we ring out the old and ring in the new, I want to let you know about some changes I will be making here, starting in January. Mrs. About Theme Parks and I have been trying to make some adjustments to achieve a better work-life balance. To that end, instead of two articles, I will now be writing and publishing one article each week. Occasionally, you may find two articles over the course of a week, but generally, expect to see one post from me every Tuesday at 10 a.m. Eastern time drop into your inbox.
There will still be ride reviews, tales of my park adventures, news about the fascinating world of parks and attractions, and more of the same kind of content that I’ve been creating at About Theme Parks–just not at the same cadence. With Epic Universe debuting soon, Disney starting to deliver on its $60-billion slate of new developments, Six Flags Qiddiya on the cusp of opening its wildly ambitious, new park, an impressive roster of new coasters set to roll in 2025, and more, there’s loads of exciting news for me to cover. As always, I look forward to sharing it with you.
I will also be making changes to the bonus content and features that paid subscribers receive. Know that I am deeply grateful for your support of my work; if you are not part of this wonderful group, kindly consider upgrading and becoming a paid subscriber. If you are part of this wonderful group, you will continue to get “Rode It! Loved It!,” my exclusive, once-a-month reviews of rides and attractions that I have experienced through the years.
I won’t be continuing the monthly “What’s the Attraction?” discussion forums. However, paid subscribers will still be able to join the discussion and express their views by commenting at the bottom of my weekly posts. Starting in January, only paid subscribers will have access to the comments section. I really enjoy reading what you have to say and interacting with you, so please make your voice heard and join the conversation.
I will also be ending “Art Talks,” my monthly audio narrations of one of my articles. But, if you have the Substack app, you can use the nifty text-to-voice feature and have any of my articles read aloud. Just click the play icon at the top of a post. You don’t have the Substack app? It’s available on iOS and Android.
Thanks for your understanding. I’m a lifelong fan with a deep and abiding passion for parks and attractions. 32 years ago I took my passion to the next level and embarked on a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious journey as a theme park journalist. Continuing that journey here at About Theme Parks fills me with gratitude, and I’m so happy to have you along for the ride.
