I was just thinking that you could have as many ratings as you want for an attraction, but just include the date with each one. I don't know of anyone doing that yet. It would also be fun to see the changes over time. (Can you tell I am working with databases and dates today at work?)
I too think that ratings and reviews should change over time. But I also think that the initial rating should still be visible. That way you can see where the ride placed initially but will see the current rating as well.
I think reviews and ratings should always change with time - look at the number of film or music critics who revisit a work years later: “Okay, so I was wrong about that one!” When should you revisit a rating? When you feel like it - it’s more of an art than a science. As far as your current system goes, I think it’s great - using numbers with decimals allows you to be a bit more flexible than a “star” or “letter grade” system. And I look forward to seeing some other Arthur ratings, so I can agree or complain here in the comments!
I think re-reviewing and rating adjustments have to be part of any ride rating system. We understand that rides wear at different rates, and that they're wear affects the experience.
I agree that they should change over time. I also think that it's a good idea to keep the initial review or ranking visible as it would be interesting to see what has changed. For example, prior to 2019, Montu was my favorite invert by just a bit over Alpengeist because Montu was running better. However BGW did something to Alpie during that off season and since then it's been running superbly. I do with they would ease up the mid-course, but it is running so much better now that it is my favorite invert.

Feel free to agree or complain away!

Ratings are a guideline only, but a good one. They need to be kept up to date as rides change. My favourite coaster was Montu until Mako came along!

For all these reasons and more, this is why I don't rank or rate roller coasters that I have ridden :)
But, that's kinda what I do for my work!
