Lakemont Park's Ferris Wheel and Twister have been purchased by Midway Park in NY State. I Saw the Ferris Wheel is running but the Twister that I see in your picture has not yet been installed. was just at Midway Park yesterday.

Yes, I travelled from North Tonawanda to Lakemont Park in July 2023 just to ride the Leaps & Dips and also the Skyliner. I hope they both can be saved. There are no seat belts or restraints of any kind on Leaps & Dips. Hang on for a wild ride!... So glad I was able to ride both of them. Though the Skyliner structure shook badly when roller coaster travelled, so should probably be looked at for safety.

Leap the Dips is a white whale ride for me that I need to ride.

The good news is that it isn't going anywhere, and its landmark status ensures it will be maintained. The bad news is there is no telling when you may be able to harpoon this white whale.

Are you a New England guy? Boston-area folks are often surprised to discover that the Nantasket coaster lives on. Of course, virtually nothing from the original ride probably remains. It's likely been rebuilt at least 10 times over now.

A ride on LTD is like riding a slow moving couch - LOL. However, the historical thrill more than offsets the lack of speed thrills. I am sorry you missed it. I have always encouraged folks to ride while they could because it has a difficult history with long periods of SBNO. If it does reopen at some point it should be at the top of your list.

It’s a shame they won’t operate this year, I genuinely enjoy both Leap the Dips and Skyliner. Dips is such a unique experience with the old track and ride vehicles. Despite the low speed and small drops it feels very thrilling with how much you’re bouncing up and down in the train. Skyliner is janky but has a wonderful first drop and a fun location next to the ball field. Was hoping to get some more rides when I drive out to Ohio from Philly, guess I’ll only be stopping at DelGrosso’s.

It is a shame. Lakemont is bound to preserve Leap the Dips. But what good is preserving it if nobody gets to experience it? It seems the park is in dire straits and the park needs new ideas/new blood to carry it forward.
