5 (out of 5)

For this month’s “Rode It! Loved It!” review (which is exclusively for paid subscribers), we’re heading to one of my home parks, Six Flags New England. I’ll admit that there may be a wisp of hometown bias going on here, but I truly believe that Superman The Ride is among the best steel coaters on the planet (Earth and Krypton) and merits a 5 (out of 5) rating. Let me explain why. What’s that you say? You’re not a paid subscriber? Well, that’s easily remedied. Remember, paid subscriptions are my only source of income here at the ad-free About Theme Parks, so your support of quality journalism–and me!–would be greatly appreciated.

Superman sits in the back of Six Flags New England, along the banks of the Connecticut River. Its imposing red-hued hill dominates the park’s skyline. Like a flame that lures moths, the coaster beckons riders even as it threatens to set their adrenaline ablaze and scare the kryptonite out of them. This ride of steel demands nerves of steel.
