The loss of Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer’s Island hits me hard. I have countless memories of exploring and playing on the island as a child, and loved rediscovering all its secrets as an adult. My only hope is that since Disneyland’s is hopefully NOT going away, they’ll give it some much needed TLC. I know it’s not a realistic hope, but it’s a hope nonetheless.

Definitely shocked by this one. I haven't taken a deep look at Magic Kingdom from overhead, but seemed like they had a lot of land around them to the North East to expand to, and not remove stuff. Nothing on that side of the park will feel remotely the same.

Agreed on your last comment.

Understood. With so much land available, it would seem Disney could have easily expanded the perimeter of the park and left the existing infrastructure and attractions intact. Maybe that's not the case. Regardless, I think this issue is stealing the thunder from the momentous reveals at D23.

Well, I'm officially bumping out my family trip to Disney World a few years to wait for some of this to open! Hope the kids still like riding Dumbo when they're older 🤪

I'll be publishing a second article soon listing some of the things that will be coming next year to Disney World. I'm not sure if that would make you rethink your plans.
