I loved Muppet Vision 3D, but I'm definitely OK with refreshing it with something else. Stationary 3D film just isn't as much of a novelty as it once was in an age of kids playing with VR headsets. Technology changes, IPs go through their cycles of popularity, and parks have to change with it. I have zero problem with that.

The Muppet re-theming of Rock n' Rollercoaster I agree is genius, and long overdue. The Aerosmith theme felt dated even 10 years ago when I last rode it. Nothing against the band, who I love and have even seen on tour a couple of times, but they definitely never screamed "Disney friendly." :)

I think Disney has some reason to be hopeful that the Muppets and the Electric Mayhem in particular still have a little life left in them. The recent Electric Mayhem soundtrack sold very well, and even landed at #1 on the Billboard Kids Charts. (Granted, it was a lot of older nostalgic adults contributing to those sales, but it's certain plenty of kids got introduced to some Muppet music through those parents).

Hollywood Studios seems to be a park constantly struggling to find its identity; while I'm not sure this helps with that goal specifically, hopefully the changes are a step forward.

As always Tim, I enjoy and appreciate your comments. I agree that 3D has lost much of its cachet. Coasters, however, never go out of style.

If they can get Rizzo the Rat to yell "MOMM-EEEEEEEEE!!!!” a la Muppet Christmas Carol somewhere in the new ride, that would make my day. :)

I'm hoping that the Muppets version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" makes the cut.

I'm of the age that I watched Sesame Street when it first started and then the Muppet Show as it came out. I was and am still a big fan. I luckily did a farewell tour of rides and attractions this past August while at Disney World that are soon to be gone, and this was one of them. It was lightly raining outside, but almost every seat was filled. I love the current Rock n' Roller coaster, so I am all for this. I can understand how some folks who can't ride an upside-down coaster are now not going to be able to enjoy the Muppets much. I have a bad feeling that for MV3D to live on means to have some props on one wall of a restaurant or a small scene in the new coaster queue.

The theater may have been mostly full, but I believe the park has not been using it to its maximum capacity by scheduling fewer performances each day. As for the film living on, I am more hopeful. I bet that the 3D movie will be shown somewhere at one of the parks, but probably without the Statler and Hilton animatronics and other bells and whistles.

Muppet Vision never fails to make me laugh, despite dozens (hundreds?) of viewings, so I'm sad to see it go. I really hope Disney keeps its word about preserving it.

I've been saying for years that The Electric Mayhem would be a perfect replacement for Aerosmith. Can't you imagine yourself going around those loops to the strains of "Can You Picture That?"

MV3D is incredibly funny and silly. (“A Salute to All Nations, but Mostly America” floors me every time.) I don't think Disney would have said it was exploring ways to repurpose it if it wasn't serious about it. I hope that doesn't mean that it ends up as a short on Disney+. My guess is that it will be moved to another venue in the parks, probably without the animatronics and other in-theater enhancements.

"It's a glorious three-hour finale."

"You got a minute-and-a-half."
