ha! I think if you grew up in that park you couldn't be happier with the current version. I can't think of anything similar at Cedar Point (the park I grew up visiting) that holds the nostalgia quite the same for me (they have since removed my childhood favorites like the Pirate Ride and White Water Landing).
I don't hate the ride by any means, but if it wasn't there (or didn't make a comeback) Silver Dollar City is still amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Good article! Probable typo:
"We were an old Ozark mining own attraction, and a roller coaster didn’t really fit"
This should probably read "mining town attraction".
Whoops! Thanks.
I had a chance to ride the original version of this ride and ... well ... I can see the charm if this is where you grew up 🙂
Hmm. I sense some disagreement with my "charm" assessment. Which is fine. Wrong, but fine.

Agreed. But I'd argue FITH is an important part of what makes SDC amazing.
Nicely told. The attraction should continue the legacy the original had for more than half a century.
Thanks Tim! And thanks for hanging with me at Silver Dollar City.
